My tax dollars hard at work.

I experienced a first yesterday. One of those truth is stranger than fiction moments. I have been very fortunate during the time I have legally been able to drive to have only ever received one ticket. The first time that I was pulled over I was issued a ticket but have established a very lucky streak since then. (I was 16 and speeding in case you were wondering and yes I was guilty.) Anyways, I was driving through Swan Valley, Idaho on the way to a photo shoot in Thayne, Wyoming when I looked in my rear view mirror and saw the lights flashing. I rapidly put on my blinker and started to pull over onto the shoulder of the road. The cop pulled up next to me and angrily pointed over and then continued on to the car in front of me. I figured we were both speeding and wanted to get us both. I decided he meant for me to stop so I sat there cosigned to my fate and to the end of my lucky streak. The cop comes straight back to me and I roll down my window to hear my charges...He chewed me out for not pulling over. I got pulled over for not pulling over. I pulled over the second I saw the lights but apparently that was not soon enough. Somehow my lucky streak remained intact. Thats all he wanted to do was yell at me for not pulling over, no ticket. I'm not sure what the guy in front of me was guilty of because I had been following him for at least three miles and doing everything he did but apparently that is who the cop was after. This ranks right up there with the time I got pulled over for having no insurance. (I did in fact have current insurance, and how a cop would know that I have no insurance is beyond me.)

I know the feeling. Not too long ago, I passed a cop that was pulled over to the side with his lights on. He wasn't with a car or anything and he pulled me over for not moving over when I passed. Super lame right? It was a fatty ticket too.

It is never lame to not pull over when a police officer is on the side of the road. It's the law...
